Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ)

Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent, not-for-profit, industry funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices, trainees and career seekers in the building and construction industry. CSQ provides funding to reduce the financial obstacle to training, making upskilling an affordable option for many more individuals in the construction industry. As a Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) registered training supplier, we provide training that is supported by CSQ funding.
To be eligible for Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) subsidised or fully funded training courses, participants
MUST:
a. Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia or a visa holder with relevant permission to work.
b. Permanently reside in Queensland or be permanently employed in Queensland.
c. Be an Eligible Worker or an Unemployed Eligible Worker (i.e. unemployed for less than four years) in the Building and Construction Industry.
MUST NOT BE:
a. An Employee of an Authority (employees of Local Councils are acceptable).
b. Currently enrolled and participating in a school program (excluding a school based apprentice or trainee).
c. A contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO.
d. Already funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same training being undertaken as part of the relevant program.
e. Participants seeking a Verification of Competency.
Please scan and email the following items to admin@qet.edu.au to allow QET to assess your eligibility for CSQ funding:
(i) One of the following:
Australian or New Zealand Citizen:
a. Green Medicare card.
b. Australian or New Zealand Passport.
a. Australian or New Zealand Full Birth Certificate or Extract.
Permanent Resident of Australia:
a. Certificate of Evidence of Residence Status (CERS).
A Visa holder with relevant permission to work:
a. Visa.
(ii) One of the following:
a. Queensland Driver Licence.
b. Telephone account.
c. Bank statement.
d. Statement from a real estate agent.
e. Any other formal documentation stating the Participant's full name and current residential address.
and
(i) Evidence to verify Participants meet the Eligible Worker or Unemployed Eligible Worker criteria. Evidence provided may include but is not limited to the following:
a. The name of the Employer
b. Job title of Employee
c. Length of service with the Employer
d. Details of what duties are being undertaken or previously undertaken in the Building and Construction Industry
and
(ii) In addition to (i), evidence must be verified by way of either:
An eligible worker employed in Queensland within the Building and Construction Industry:
a. QLeave Statement (current statement showing credits within last 4 years); or
b. Relevant current Licence; or
c. Employer letter (on letter head and signed by the employer) confirming employment, role and duties in the Building and Construction Industry; or
d. Statutory Declaration providing details of employment, role and duties in the Building and Construction Industry.
A self-employed worker within the Building and Construction Industry:
a. QLeave Statement (current statement showing credits within last 4 years); or
b. Relevant current Licence; or
c. ABN/ACN registration showing ownership and invoices for recent work in the industry; or
d. Statutory Declaration providing details of employment, role and duties in the Building and Construction Industry.
An unemployed eligible worker (unemployed for a period of not greater than 4 years who would otherwise meet the requirements of an eligible worker):
a. QLeave Statement (current statement showing credits within last 4 years); or
b. Relevant current Licence; or
c. Separation Certificate; or
d. Statutory Declaration providing details of relevant employment, role and duties in the Building and Construction Industry.
